The Grumman F6F Hellcat was the most accomplished Allied aircraft during WWII. Taking its cue from this historic fighter plane, Dodge designed the Hellcat engine in 2015. Engineers took the classic 6.2-liter Hemi and added supercharger. The result was nothing short of revolutionary.
Now that we are a few years down the road, Dodge has taken the bold step of putting that same Hellcat engine under the hood of the best 4×4 truck on the road. This Hellcat-enhanced truck is called the Ram Rebel 1500 TRX. It’s destined to be the most powerful half-ton truck on the road.
Ram recently showed off the upcoming truck, in concept form, at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. From the giant fender wells to steel bumpers to the one-of-a-kind Ram front grille, anyone can tell that this truck means business.
Not only will it be fast as hell, the Ram Rebel 1500 TRX can take that speed pretty much anywhere it wants to go. The available 4×4 Performance Control System offers five terrain modes. The design of the system is based on link coil rear suspension found in off-road desert racing trucks.
Ram has yet to say when this gem of a truck will be hitting the market. “The sooner, the better,” says anyone with a modicum of good taste
