Spring is right around the corner, which means now is the perfect time for some auto maintenance. Whether you’re looking to keep your vehicle spotless or you’re simply hoping to extend the life of your car, there are a number of things you can do to keep your vehicle in prime condition. While you can do much of this maintenance yourself, don’t hesitate to bring your car to the Carl Hogan Automotive service center.
According to Autotrader, spring cleaning applies to your car as well. Washing and waxing is a good way to remove road grime and dirt from the exterior, and a fresh coat of wax will keep the clear coat protected from the more intense UV rays that often come with spring weather. Clean the inside as well, removing any trash and vacuuming the carpet. If your car has leather appointments, be sure to condition it as well.
Check tire pressure and inspect your wiper blades. Tire pressure changes when the weather gets warmer, so it’s important to make sure your vehicle’s tires are not over or underinflated. While you’re at it, check the tires for any cracking, bulging, or bald spots — those are signs you need new tires. Additionally, consider getting new wiper blades, as those should be replaced annually.
Change your oil and check fluid levels. Seasonal changes are often a good reminder that you need new oil, as old oil degrades and tends to get dirty. In addition to new oil and a new oil filter, top off the antifreeze/coolant, washer fluid, and transmission fluid, if necessary. If you notice you’re low on brake fluid, you may need to replace your brake pads.
Keep your vehicle running strong — bring it to Carl Hogan Automotive for all of its service and maintenance needs.
