sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro

Recent comments by GM’s product chief make it very clear that the design of the upcoming sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro took its own unique path. Mark Ruess set the record straight when he said, “We did the car way before the new Mustang came out.” No one would ever suspect or accuse Chevy of following in another automaker’s footsteps, especially when it comes to the Camaro. Chevy (nor the Camaro) would have ever made it this far if they were a bunch of copycats. So what happens when Chevy conceives the new Camaro in-house and from the ground up? What we know so far is very little. GM Authority makes an Read More →

These certainly are exciting times with numerous reasons to celebrate. That means it’s time to get your car up to date on all of its maintenance, clean it up, and hit the road for this season’s first road trip. To make sure your car is ready to go, follow our spring car maintenance checklist. Check the battery. Car batteries take a beating in the winter. Though we don’t see the cold temperatures the northern states get, it’s still a good idea to have your battery checked. If it’s nearing the end of its life, have it replaced as soon as possible. Inspect the tires. Tires get Read More →

The Columbus Police Department out of Mississippi is trying something new. Chief Tony Carleton said the department has deployed 50 police-worn cameras in its patrol division. Officers wear the cameras on their breast pocket or lapel and activate them at any point there may be “enforcement action”. Once off duty, the officers place their cameras on a docking station that downloads the recording to a server provided by TASER for $9,000 a year. “It’s been a learning curve for our officers, as far as getting used to using them and learning how to download video,” Carleton said. “The biggest challenge has been making sure we have the proper policy in Read More →

parallel parking record

You win some and you lose some. But when you get it right, there’s nothing quite like it. There’s just a certain pride that comes with parallel parking like a champ. January is Teen Driving Awareness Month, and parking will inevitably be part of any teen driver’s education. Any teen (or adult for that matter) that wants to know how to parallel park needs to study the work of Alistair Moffat. Mr. Moffat recently set the Guinness World Record for parallel parking. Using a Fiat 500C, he parallel parked between two other Fiats, leaving a margin of only 3 inches total between his car and the cars in front and Read More →
