Cadillac may be the biggest name in premium vehicles, but that doesn’t mean its content to rest on its laurels. Recently, the automaker announced a new base trim level — appropriately named the Luxury — for its massively popular SUV, the Cadillac XT6.
The introduction of the Cadillac XT6 Luxury is part of the brand’s attempt to broaden its reach by offering affordable luxury. While we don’t currently have any hard details regarding the new model’s pricing, its closest relative — the Premium Luxury — starts at $53,690. It’s reasonable to expect that the Luxury will clock in below that figure.
What we do know, however, is that the XT6 Luxury is one good-looking and high-performing SUV. It bears a passing resemblance to the Premium Luxury Trim, featuring a head-turning Galvano Grille Surround and an athletic stance. Under the hood, you can look forward to a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that pumps out 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque—a departure from the other model’s 3.6-liter V6 units. It’s also paired with a silky smooth nine-speed automatic transmission.
At the moment, we expect the Cadillac XT6 to hit dealerships later this year. If you can’t wait that long, feel free to check out our online inventory of XT6s at Carl Hogan Automotive.
