Many Americans want to know that they are supporting American businesses with their purchases. One of the biggest purchases anyone will make is a new car. If you are searching for the most American vehicle, consider the 2019 Jeep® Cherokee.
The Cherokee earned the top spot in Cars.com’s recent American-Made Index for the second year in a row. Cars.com analyzes five major factors including engine sourcing, assembly location, transmission sourcing, domestic-parts content, and factory jobs. The Cherokee is manufactured in Belvidere, Illinois, at the Belvidere Assembly Plant and is built with U.S.-sourced engines and transmissions.
“…We are especially pleased to celebrate Cherokee’s place as the most American vehicle on Cars.com’s American-Made Index for the second consecutive year,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand — North America. “We salute the dedicated employees who build the Cherokee, the most capable midsize SUV on the planet, as well as all the loyal Jeep® owners who drive it.”
With this year’s win by the Cherokee, it gives FCA its third win in a row. The Jeep® Wrangler came in first in 2017. Car and Driver also lists the Cherokee, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee in its round-up of American vehicles.
